Open cult(ural) centre
JJust a stone’s throw away from BEAM, radialsystem has been a privately-supported centre and a driving force behind the arts since 2006. Social discourses and issues are also raised here and translated into artistic action.
Firmly anchored in Berlin’s independent scene, this is where early music meets experimental music, where contemporary dance meets modern musical theatre. radialsystem is also an environment where issues relating to culture, science, politics, business and society really resonate.
Falling Walls
Breaking down walls and overcoming boundaries: Under this motto, leading personalities from the fields of science, politics, business, art and society have been meeting annually since 2009 on November 9th, the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, at the Falling Walls Conference at radialsystem to present current breakthroughs in science and research for global challenges such as artificial intelligence, climate and biodiversity, health, and fair and sustainable business.
The aim of the conference is to bring together scientists from different disciplines, to link science with business, politics, media and culture, to highlight trends, opportunities and solutions for global challenges and to promote the transfer of knowledge between science and society. The Falling Walls Conference is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the Helmholtz Association (HGF) and the Robert Bosch Foundation. A large number of scientific institutions and foundations are also participating.
